Yes, I think that is some solace, Peter. Thank you.

Oliver, your profound care for humanity permeates your writing. If it gives you and your readers any solace I think Russia holds the trump card and it is not nuclear and it's not some supersonic missile.

It is the US debt trap, with the impending collapse of the USDollar as the world reserve currency. This can be triggered at any moment of Russian choosing as Alasdair McLeod explains on Substack. However it is obvious that Russia is being patient and holding back from using this trump card for I think three reasons.

1. Every day the US becomes politically more chaotic and can only deteriorate further running up to inauguration of the new President on the 5th January 2025 and the US hitting its next debt ceiling on the 1st January 25.

2.Every day the US debt, already unsustainable at 35trillion, and interest compounding is quietly doing Putins job for him.

3. Russian allies, particularly China are holding Russia back from acting as they want to unload as many US treasuries as possible before the "bulloon goes up".

Every day allows those who can to get out of US bonds. As the buyers shrink away the only buyer left in the end will be the FED. Then watch inflation escalate!!!.

In summary all Putin needs to do is keep the pressure on and the market will do the dirty work for him and once the USD collapses that's the end of the US printing money to support their never ending wars.
